Soft Messages introduce a intimate communication experience for co-living spaces. It possesses a similar quality as a Post-It to wish them "good luck at their school exam" or inform them that you "won’t be back for dinner". Unlike traditional messages which demand immediate attention, these Soft Messages are only relevant and accessible within the context of the home, which creates a more personal connection between sender and recipient.

What are "Soft Messages"?

What are "Soft Messages"?

Soft messages are non-urgent and contextual, designed to be created, shared, and consumed within the home environment. They connect the sender and recipient without the disruptive nature of traditional messages. Similar to a post-it left for a loved one, soft messages carry a sense of thoughtfulness and personal connection.

Through iterative rapid prototyping, the concept evolved into a playful, decentralized modular system.

During testing, participants first explored the product independently to simulate natural feedback, then interacted with it following minimal instructions.

Sound design was crucial in providing clear, intuitive cues. The auditory palette, inspired by piano tones, balanced playfulness and seriousness, complementing the visual design. This cohesive feedback enriched the tactile experience and underwent iterative refinement during user testing.
